Nasir Jamshed all praise for Dav Whatmore and Julian Fountain – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Davenell-Frederick-Whatmore-c52571 and the fielding mentor, Julian Fountain.
The left-handed batsman has recently made a comeback in the national team and a number of cricket pundits in the country believe that Nasir has a great future ahead of him. Arguably, he is the best opening batsman in the country presently.
Since the retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Hafeez-c76898 have shown some positive signs during the Asia Cup 2012 as they constructed two partnerships of more than 100 runs.
However, it remains to be seen whether Nasir is able to cement his place in the national team or not because he has had a mixed career so far but the left-handed batsman is geared up to make sure that he does not let this opportunity go.
He has so far been considered for only One Day International cricket but the cricketer from Lahore believes that he has the game to deliver the goods in all the three formats.
“My wish is to play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 for a very long time and to play consistently well. Whichever format the selectors want to select me in, I am ready to do a job. So far I have played international cricket only in the 50 over format, but I would love a crack
at the other formats too,” he said.
While talking to Pakpassion, Nasir also appreciated the new coaching staff of the Green Shirts and said that the boys are very comfortable with Whatmore and Fountain. He hopes that the Green Shirts will continue to move in the right direction in future and
improve their game as a whole.
“Both Dav (Whatmore) and Julien (Fountain) have made a really good start to their tenures as coaches. All the boys are enjoying working with them. It’s been a very smooth start for everyone concerned as our aim is to improve our cricket,” expressed Nasir.
Historically, foreign coaches have not found a lot of success in Pakistan because of the difference of culture. In the past, Pakistan tried http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Francis-Lawson-c58815 but all of them failed to deliver the goods on a consistent basis, although
Pakistan team did well for some time during the time of Woolmer.
However, Whatmore has shown some good signs so far as the players seem to be very comfortable with him. On top of that, by observing almost all the matches of Faysal Bank Super 8 Cup 2012 in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Australian has proved that he is
sincere in finding new talent in Pakistan.
