Nasir Jamshed, the left-handed opening batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, has recovered from the finger injury and is now geared up to represent his country at the ultimate stage once again.
The 22-year-old was ruled out of the on-going tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 as he fractured one of his fingers while playing a club match in Lahore in May.
Prior to that, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and scored consistently throughout the tournament.
It is not the first time that the left-handed opener has missed international cricket due to an injury as he has been immensely criticised in the past for his lacklustre approach towards his health.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jamshed-c66276 admits that he lacked professionalism in past and this is the reason why he has just played 16 One Day Internationals since debuting in 2008. The aggressive opener however, promises to look after himself better so that he can serve his country consistently.
"[I was not] serious with my cricket and never maintained my fitness as I should have. I realised the importance of fitness only after being dropped due to fitness grounds. But now I am more serious and focussed," the opener expressed.
Pakistan have struggled to find a solid opening pair since the retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aamer-Sohail-c41418. Nasir’s brilliances in the Asia Cup raised hopes about his bright future in international cricket but the injured finger hampered his progress.
The left-hander is now fit once again but he is presently working on his fitness before commencing net practice.
Jamshed added, "It's disappointing when [you create] a strong impact with your performance but things change and you are out of the scene. But now I am fit and presently giving a precautionary rest to my finger before coming out in the nets to bat. While
I was injured I was allowed to jog so that I kept myself fit."
Pakistan’s next international assignment will be against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE), where they will play three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals. Nasir will be hoping to return to the national squad for that series.
