Nasir http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) and the ICC World T20 2012, has earned praise from the former Test captain, Asif Iqbal.
The left-handed opener, after performing well at the junior level and domestic cricket, was drafted into the limited-over squad against a touring Zimbabwean side in 2008.
The cricketer from Lahore impressed one and all with his solid technique and temperament, scoring a half-century in his very first match at the National Stadium, Karachi.
Jamshed struggled with injuries in 2009 and was consequently dropped from the national team. However, the left-hander did not give up, and worked extremely hard at the grass-root level to regain a spot in the Pakistan side this year during the Asia Cup 2012.
Since then, the 22-year-old cricketer has been a permanent member of the national team, although he missed the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 because of a fractured finger.
While talking to Pakpassion, the former skipper expressed that the batsman has a great future ahead of him and feels that Jamshed has been the best young player of the on-going mega event so far.
"So far I would say that Nasir Jamshed is definitely the find of the tournament. Although he played for Pakistan 3 or 4 years ago, but he is someone who has really performed exceptionally well," said Iqbal.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, on the other hand, has not been at his best recently but Iqbal thinks that the former captain still deserves a place in the playing-11 because of his ability to contribute in all three departments.
"As a batsmen he may not be but I think he gets into any team because he is an exceptionally good fielder and obviously one of the leading wicket takers in T20s," he added. "I think his place is secure as far as T20s is concerned – the ODIs are a different
matter."
Pakistan will play their opening Super 8 fixture tomorrow, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, and Afridi will be positive about doing well, taking into account the spin-friendly conditions in Colombo.
