Continued from Part 1...

The ICC World T20 of 2012 in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 has witnessed commentators flocking from all around the world to watch their teams and international cricket back in action in the Emerald Isle. Hussain, alongside David Lloyd, is one of the few commentators from England
who have well and truly stamped their authority in the commentary box with their distinct tweaks. Whenever England are playing, or there is a high profile match in Colombo, Hambantota and Pallekele, Hussain is either seen chirping in the commentary box, being
highly critical of poor performances on the field or roaring in approval whenever a quality stroke is played, a beautiful delivery knocks stumps over, or a sensational catch is taken in the inner ring. He seems to dominate the proceedings in the box like no
one else, where entertainment is guaranteed whenever he is behind the microphone.
Yet unlike, Bill Lawry and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Lloyd-c53058, Hussain is not known for his chirpy ‘clichés’. In fact he saves his enthusiasm for brilliance on the field, and is often seen swaying with the flow of the game instead of being extremely passionate about it. What would
forever be associated with him however is his excellent and erudite analysis and ability to decipher the game like no other. Hussain could easily come up with five different tactics that opponents need to take into consideration when they are playing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746,
yet also have the ability to evaluate on how poorly a team has performed, after the odds were with them to win a game. In many ways, he is similar to Michael Atherton, who is amongst the few English sportsmen who have carved a successful career in the media.
Hussain might not be a regular contributor to various magazines and newspapers as Atherton is, but his style of commentating resembles the opening batsman in many ways. His dry humor and satirical comments are very similar to Atherton. Perhaps, this similarity
can be attributed to the fact that these English legends had played in the same team for quite some time, where bearing the scars of a faltering campaign came hand in hand with being shrewd and pragmatic in one’s outlook towards life and its challenges.
It can thus be safely said that the fact that Hussain had been in the firing line for the most part of his career, has made him a solid, shrewd and pragmatic individual. These characteristics reflect in his comments about cricket, where he would seldom come
up with laid back claims which lack logic and substance. His shrewdness has made him one of the most popular commentators from the UK, where his voice is easily recognizable from behind the camera, but also fails to help people conclude immediately that it
is Hussain who is speaking behind the microphone.
This year’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 would definitely be poorer and incomplete without this man. A fiery and aggressive player and a rational critic as a commentator is exactly what the game of cricket needs as it
continues to evolve in strange ways. The only challenge for Hussain as a commentator is whether he could adapt his comments in light of the changing nature of the game. He seems like someone who is open to innovation, different schools of thoughts and a heated
debate, which makes him a true original.
