Nasser Hussain advises the English Bowlers to tackle the big three Proteas batsmen - Cricket News Update
Former English captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JH-Kallis-c1692, if they want to fancy their chances of leveling the series against the Proteas at Leeds.
The South African trio tormented the much vaunted English attack with an imposing performance during the first Test at the Oval.
The Proteas batsman punished the local bowlers with impunity as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711 conceded 116, 118, 151 and 140 respectively while picking up only two wickets.
However, Hussain believes that the opposition batting lineup has their share of vulnerabilities which can be exploited by the Englishmen, and ordered his bowlers to take an attacking approach.
The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 player said that a visible batting flaw in Smith’s batting technique can fetch an lbw for the Poms, but cautioned against bowling in his pads or outside the off-stump which are his strengths.
“With a technique all of his own, he's an obvious lbw candidate, but if you stray even a fraction into his pads he'll whack you through the leg side,” Hussain added.
The former right-hander praised http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hamisi-Abdallah-c61368 and said that the batsman is technically sound but a full and straight delivery can do the trick for the hosts to remove their most wanted man.
“Amla is exceptionally strong at taking a back-of-a-length ball at the top of its bounce and working it with quick hands either side of the wicket,” the former right-handed batsman said.
“They have to drag him outside off early on, so that he covers his off stump, then slip in the occasional full-length delivery, fast and straight.”
Speaking of Kallis, the former English skipper believes that the star batsman’s vulnerability can be exposed by employing yorkers, bouncers and full length deliveries. The former captain thinks http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ST-Finn-c2566 could take the South African great out of his comfort
zone and unsettle him early in his innings.
“England might be tempted to york him, because he dips his head as the bowler lets go, which means he sometimes fails to pick up the full-length delivery,” Hussain concluded.
The crucial second Test at Headingley is due to start on Thursday, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 leading the three-Test Investec series 0-1.
