Former England captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806’s “bad decision making” for his exclusion from the national squad for the third and final Test against South Africa.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the cricketer turned commentator said that it was the poor decision making of the Natal-born prolific batsman which cost him his place in the side, despite scoring a match-saving 149 in his previous game.
“He's had a bad week off the field, and some really bad decision-making started with that press conference where he blamed English cricket for all his woes,” said Hussain, after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) selectors dropped KP for the must
win Test series finale against on-tour Proteas.
“Then there was the stuff about texts. Even last night he announces coming back without telling England. If he could be bothered to ring the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils why not sit down with the England management?” the former English opener added further, referring
to Pietersen’s video posted on YouTube on Saturday, in which he announced coming out of ODI retirement.
Pietersen, the 32-year-old Natal-born top-order batsman, who scored a match-saving 149 in the second Test at Headingley, last week hinted at quitting England cricket after Lord’s Test.
However, KP took a U-Turn on Saturday, by coming out of ODI retirement and making himself available for selection for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 in all formats of the game. But it was not enough to earn him a place in the national side as he was yesterday left out of England’s
squad for the crucial Lord’s Test, amid allegations of sending derogatory texts to South African players during drawn Headingley Test.
Nasser Hussain, the 44-year-old former England batsman, also blamed England and Wales Cricket Board for the ongoing rift between the board and Pietersen.
“As a management structure you expect to manage difficult people,” said Hussain, the veteran of 96 Tests and 88 One Day Internationals.
“Pietersen is an absolute genius. We saw that last week at Headingley, sometimes you have a flawed genius and that is what Kevin Pietersen definitely is,” he added further.
The third Test between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and England starts at home of cricket on Thursday, August 16.
