Nasser Hussain wants Kevin Pietersen to learn from Jonathan Trott
Former England captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adrian-Roger-Kirshaw-Pierson-c42135 to his basics.
England is currently playing a three-match Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Herath-Mudiyanselage-Rangana-Keerthi-Bandara-Herath-c62873, on the fourth day of the first Test.
Pietersen has had problems against left-arm spinners in past as well, since the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364 have troubled him on a number of occasions.
Former England captain feels that Pietersen’s problems against left-arm spin are more of a psychological issue now. He said that the flamboyant right hander should keep the game very simple and should not complicate things.
He gave the example of Trott, who plays with a simple technique and has been very successful for England since the last couple of years.
Nasser said, “KP only has to look at the other end for a solution. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ian-Jonathan-Leonard-Trott-c63890 clears his head before each ball and is totally focused. It may sound simple but Pietersen has to watch the ball more closely. Kevin Pietersen's problem with left-arm spin
started off as a technical issue but has now become a mental one.”
Trott struck a brilliant double hundred in the first Test against the Islanders and made 203 runs off 409 deliveries, in which he struck 17 boundaries.
Nasser was all praise for Trott and said that the right hander from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warwickshire-c862 is doing a great job for his country even though he consumes a lot of balls for his runs.
He added that there are not a number of quality bowlers in international cricket at the moment but the former captain believes that Trott would have scored runs even against the best in the business.
“It was another immense display from Trott. I have no issue with his scoring rate. He is doing an outstanding job for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and, even though world cricket has a problem at present with a lack of quality bowling, I think Trott would have scored runs in any
era,” Nasser opined.
