Do you think it was fare the way they tallied up their scores to determine who got the gold? I mean they both did a great performance. Why couldn't they have rewarded He Kexin and Nastia with the gold medal?

  1. They amended the scoring system since the last olympics and as part of that, they decided there would no longer be any ties in gymnastics.

Where did they find some of these judges?  In this competition and others, they were often slow to score and there seemed to be one or 2 judges that must have had their eyes closed or watching another event when they submitted their scores.

  2. thats why...i thought Nastia should have won!!

  3. i think it's fair, not that i'm saying nastia wasnt good enough but theres only 1 gold winner. But i guess it will just motivate her even more and do better next time. Remember how they did in the team competition & didnt win, well they did so much better in individual events.

  4. people, chill.

okay. im 100% chinese, so DONT think that regular chinese poeple cheat or sumthing. ive live in usa all my life. i was born here, and i love usa. <3 but...Liukin and Kexin BOTH shud have got gold or BOTH get silver. isnt that fair?

YES, i know. rules, rules, rules. but STILL.

    s***w the rules.

  5. I believe Nastia should have won the gold. It was clear that her performance was nearly flawless with a perfect stuck landing. He Kexin clearly had visible errors but the judge's lack of knowledge didn't catch it, therefore screwed up the scores and awarding the wrong person.

  6. Your only complaining because He Kexin won the gold. If Nastia Lukin won the gold i bet you wouldn't even think that the tiebreaker was wrong.

But i don't believe in ties. Your either the best or second.

  7. I don't follow the sport that closely so I don't know why they came up with this tie breaking procedure but it is totally absurd.  There can be no pretense that judging gymnastics is an exact science so if total scores are the same, then medals of the same category should be given.  The tie breaking procedure, although understood beforehand by the participants, is unnecessarily detailed and proves nothing.

  8. I don't really know. I personally believe that two golds should have been given. But, Nastia had a great Olympics and so did USAG, so I won't complain.

  9. I believe they both deserved gold.... but I like Nastia so here are my reasons why out of the two she deserved to win....

    1) Nastia's routine was diffidently cleaner as stated by Bella Karolyi and the other commentators (there were less errors and it was al-around cleaner)

    2) With the highest and lowest score deducted they tie, but if you would have noticed is with the 2 scores still on there Nastia completely beat He's score

3)And this is more general terms, but the system is messed up, they have less experienced judges to make it fair so a person competeing with a judge from their country won't have a leg up on the competition. (they had south africa judging, and no offense to their country but I have never seen one good gymnast come from there so reason can believe they were a greatly inexperienced panel)

Ignoring the age controversy I feel strongly about, both gymnasts deserve gold!!!!
