well he also coaches her...and he won gold when he was in the olympics...it's like the family business. i just think it's a lot of tough love while they're at work. he's probably a lot different when they're at home and going about doing other family activities...i mean, competing in the olympics isn't exactly something you do every day.

Nastia didn't rob Shawn of anything.  Nastia earned that Gold medal.

As far as Nastia's relationship with her dad, I see nothing wrong with it.  They are close, not only is he her coach, he is her dad - they spend a lot of time together and you can see he is really proud of his daughter and I bet they only are lovey dovey like what you see at competetions.

It's not weird... There is a cultural difference to consider too... I mean, he grew up in Russia, I'm assuming her mother is Russian, so there is a Russian household and what is an acceptable contact over there may not be here. But I get where you're coming from
