Who needs rivals when you can boo yr own kind..

I'm far from a Tarrent lover but, really when yr relieved to play a game away from home so dont get booed on field....?!

Thats some nasty nasty Docker supporters...

Not a happy team at freo?

Any one else recall booing yr own players throughout a game?

Yes, I agree with you, they were nasty supporters, weren't they.

You say that is an all time low & wonder if anyone else can recall something of a similar nature.

Well, I can, & it was only as far back as 2004 & it involved Richmond supporters. They weren't so much booing their players & coach, Danny Frawley, for the teams bad performances - they were too busy spitting at them. Here's a cut & paste of part of a report on the incident,....." Surely anyone interested in the AFL who hasn't been living in a cave for the past year knows Richmond is the most talked-about club in the league, pretty much for all the wrong reasons.

WA does not have astranglehold on the bad supporters brigade. A police inquiry resulted in some responsible fans being charged over the Richmond incident.

Richmond are reknown for such behaviour as well.

No pun intended but most of their supporters really spit chips when the team gets beaten! They are terrible for spitting.

Unreal, Richmond supporters? it was one dikhead from Queensland, get the facts right, we all remember the incident, time does funny things to peoples memories.

It has happened in the footy races umpteen times over the years to all clubs, older fans will support that, only last week or so, there was a Melbourne bloke, screaming at the players going up the race. i could name every club as being guilty of it, every single one, if the rest of you lot were really honest you would agree, who hasn't heard one of your own fans bagging your own team, it happens every game, i used to hate watching Michael laffy, dud, dud, dud,.  come on be fair dinkum.

I've never booed anyone in the Hawks team, for me it's simple why i don't boo them. I wasn't good enough to play at that level, so i've got no right to boo them.

Besides I'd much rather boo the opposition than my own team

Believe it or not i have never Booed a player in my life be it on my team or the opposition

the only people i boo is the umpires

i have been around a footy ground in one way or another for 35yrs

there's a reason why Collingwood traded Tarrant - Pie supporters would boo him too!!

I personally have never boo'd my own team players or coach - but I guess when you get so frustrated with a player it can happen.

Imawunda's point about Richmond is spot on...if I was a Tigers supporter I would have done the same thing.  Those Tiger supporters have been suffering way too long.

Don't read too much into the Dockers supporters booing Tarrant,  the Collingwood supporters used to boo him as well

yeah i threw abuse at my team "Port" when they squandered a 47 point lead to lose by 20 all in the space of the final quarter to "Brisbane"! they deserve it just like fremantle deserve what they got from there supporters! these are professionals who get paid good money to play good football and when you see them just going through the motions of finishing a game without any regard to the outcome and playing without any heart, its frustrating! Freo has on paper in my opinion and i am sure in the opinion of many freo fans one of the best teams, yet year after year they just coast along and under achieve! They really should have won a premiership by now! So give your team **** whenever you can cause that's one of the reasons Port Adelaide Football Club is the most successful Aussie rules club in Australia, cause its supporters don't accept mediocracy and will let the players know!!!

Yep, Freo have nasty fans all right.

But yep, Richmond Tigers take the cake. What a mob of yobs----spitting at their players & coach. Two males were charged by police (not the same bloke twice Strumper!).

Danny Frawley was treated pretty shabbily by the Richmond board. But what else does one expect from that club??!!
