The Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat first on batting friendly conditions. Opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Frances-c57085 MacKay was sent back to the pavilion very early in the innings.
However, Doolan and captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suzannah-Wilson-Bates-c92079 consolidated the innings for the Black Caps as both of them accumulated 81 runs for the second wicket partnership.
The batters to follow failed to compliment the efforts of their top order and lost their way. The Kiwis were at 141 runs for the loss of just two wickets at one stage but they lost their last six wickets for just 60 runs. This is the reason why, the Black
Caps could not raise their run-rate at the later stages of their innings.
Apart from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Janet-Catherine-Brehaut-c66344, none of the lower order batters were able to cope with the Indian bowlers, who did not give a lot of scoring opportunities to the Kiwi batters.
As a result, New Zealand Women just managed to score 201 runs in their 50 overs.
Doolan remained the top scorer for the Black Caps as she scored 76 runs off 125 balls and struck four boundaries. Bates supported her ably and managed 34 runs for which she consumed 55 balls and struck a boundary. Brehaut also shined with an unbeaten 23
runs.
New ball bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gouher-Sultana-c60424 also picked up a
