The Women’s National Volleyball Team of Brazil has made shocking waves since the start of 16th FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan. The Brazilian team has earned a very good reputation on account of stellar performances. The squad is equipped
with skilful players like Natalia Pereira and Sheilla Castro, who have amazed the world with wonderful tips and tricks. The 21-year-old Natalia Pereira comes on top in the category of most productive players in the FIVB Women’s World Championship 2010.
The initial two rounds of the Championship are over and thirteen teams have been eliminated so far. At the end of second round, Natalia shares the top-scorer’s position with her teammate Sheilla Castro with 129 points. These two players have really benefitted
the team. With their relentless efforts, Brazil has finished the second round of the Championship without losing any game. They remained unbeaten along with Russia; both teams maintained a score of 7-0.
Natalia has been the key player for Brazil and she has supported her team with spectacular performance. She was also attached with the winner-squad of 2005 Girl’s Youth Worlds in Macau when Brazil clinched gold medal. Likewise, Natalia was a part of Brazilian
team in 2007 Women’s Junior Championship, which took place in Thailand. With her unmatched skills as a contribution to her squad, Team Brazil is once again working on a target to hold the trophy of FIVB Women’s World Championship 2010 in Japan.
The Brazilian team entered the 2010 FIVB Women’s World Champion under the supervision of Jose R. Guimaraes. The head coach has led the team in right direction and cropped out good results. Natalia has been instrumental in the overall progress of Brazil’s
team. She joined the squad in a dramatic way as some veterans (Mari Steinbrecher and Paola Pequeno) couldn’t participate in the Championship on account of injuries, which created an opportunity for Natalia to travel with the team to Japan. The dedicated player
has done justice to her role and worked out great results. Natalia has been one of the reasons that Brazil is staying on top at this time. Her efforts have been acknowledged by her coach and teammates.
The head coach of Brazilian team is happy with Natalia’s progress and he calls her a valuable asset for team. He said, “You always miss players like Mari and Paola because they have the experience of the Olympics and past World Championships. But Natalia has
been doing a fantastic job and making the most out of the opportunity and responsibility. I am really not surprised because Natalia has been working out with the senior team since she was 16 years-old, so we more or less can say she was prepared for this moment.”
Natalia is humbled by the great honour. She gives credit to the superb teamwork, which has enabled her to catch the limelight. The committed player said, “To say the truth I didn’t expect this happening so fast, sometimes it is better be lucky. It is a big
responsibility but the other girls have been helping me a lot to cope with the pressure and I will give my best to take the title back to Brazil.”
Natalia Pereira is at the verge of making a hat-trick at the three FIVB different levels of competition. She is determined to bring her best out in the field and make her team successful. Natalia expressed her views that she is focused on collective results.
She wants her team to rise on the scene and settle for the top-position. Brazil is in good shape to capture the title. The potential threat is the defending champion Russia, which is likely to give them a hard time. However, the winners of 2010 FIVB World
Championship will be revealed on the weekend.
