Natalie Gulbis keen to make headway on the LPGA Tour
American Natalie Gulbis, who has sought to end her protracted winning drought since her last triumph at the Evian Masters 2007, is going to face some of the most battle-hardened LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) contenders at the coming CN Canadian
Women’s Open 2012.
The CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, one of the most prestigious events on the LPGA Tour, is scheduled to be staged from August 20-26, at The Vancouver Golf Club.
Gulbis might have been down and out in recent tournaments, but she has what it takes to trouble rivals on the course.
Analysts said that the American star is also going to take part in the Evian Masters, scheduled to be held from July 26-29, at Evian-les-Bains, France, and this can bring her a good opportunity to end her victory drought — something she desperately needs
to move ahead on the LPGA Tour.
Glubis had been pretty happy after recording her first LPGA victory at the Evian Masters 2007. Analysts also pointed out that since the LPGA titan knows the course well, as she played the 2007 edition at Evian-les-Bains, she can give her rivals a run for
their money.
The victory at the 2007 edition as a big surprise to Gulbis and her fans, as no one had thought that she would be able to beat prominent players.
“Obviously it was meant to be for me," Gulbis said. "Before the playoff, I was very upset at myself because I felt like I had given away this tournament. I thought I needed to get to 7 under to win and I end up at, what, four? Going in today, I never thought
that four under would have won this tournament".
Gulbis has recorded good finishes in many tournaments. Although she has been having trouble with her form, but she has proved in recent events that she is keen to make headway.
The 29-year-old star displayed a good performance in the Kraft Nabisco Championship 2006, as she finished tied for the third position on the leaderboard. In the 2007 edition of the major championship, she could not prove her worth.
Commentators said that the professional golfer is expected to do her best in the coming events.
