Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller for UFC on Fox 3 announced – UFC news
Nate Diaz will be facing Jim Miller on UFC on Fox 3 in a lightweight battle, as announced by President Dana White just four days before the UFC on Fox 2 event, which is to be held this Saturday.
White announced the fight to be held on May 5 from Chicago.
The upcoming UFC on Fox 2 event is headlined by the highly anticipated fight between Phil Davis and Rashad Evans. Also, in the event will be the other most talked about fight between Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping. The latter fight will be a middleweight
title eliminator match, as the winner will march towards facing Anderson Silva for the title. Previously, Rashad had commented on Sonnen’s and Bisping’s fighting styles, saying that even though Bisping is a better technical fighter, he can be hammered by Sonnen’s
attack.
The fight between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller will give the former the chance to add more to his flourishing career.
The announcement that came from White stated, “Our 3rd Fox fight May 5th at the IZOD Center in New Jersey will feature Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller!!! Nate = 3 Sub and 5 FON Jim = 3 SON!!”
By 3 Son for Jim, White is referring to the fact that Miller has attained Submission of the Night honours thrice, whereas ‘3 Sub and 5 Fon’ for Diaz means he has won 5 Fight of the Night awards and 3 Submission of the Night awards.
Both the young fighters are known for their aggressive style and their grappling techniques. Nate Diaz was last seen brutally beating Donald Cerrone to defeat, making it his best fight ever. On the other hand, Jim Miller’s recent episode last weekend was
even more gruesome, when the crowd saw him choking out Melvin Guillard.
If both are compared, Diaz definitely holds more weight when it comes to punching, kicking and mauling the opponent.
However, when it comes to submission, then surely Miller has the upper hand. Miller is a far better technical wrestler than Diaz, which can be a problem for the latter one. In other words, Diaz needs to be aggressive right from the start and should not fall
in Miller’s traps.
