Nate Washington joins group of Tennessee Titans players unhappy over Peyton Manning pursuit-NFL News
Tennessee Titans’ players have continued their outspoken disliking to the management’s unsuccessful pursuit of former Indianapolis Colts’ star quarterback, Peyton Manning, off the free agency.
Wide receiver, Nate Washington, is the latest of the lot, apparently unhappy over the management’s campaign, which was led by the franchise owner, Bud Adams.
His teammate, receiver, Lavelle Hawkins, had already expressed the same feelings at the time when the campaign was well alive as Washington has spoken of now.
According to Hawkins:
"If Peyton would've come, we would have started a lot of things over. Now we can just continue on with what we have."
Almost a similar amount of grudge was held by quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck, whose job was seen in threat directly following to the planned signing of Peyton Manning.
Equally confused was rookie QB, Jake Locker, who apparently foresee lack of direction and choice to his future. The situation would have been quite different for him in Manning’s presence.
Washington said to be feeling more comfortable at the receiving end for Matt Hasselbeck and Locker and both receivers have admitted to be unhappy over the team’s move.
Even Hasselbeck admitted to have thought at one point about seeking his release from the team, but apparently did not have many alternatives.
Lucky for all the players that the campaign of bringing Manning to Tennessee ended without any success, the player joined the Denver Broncos, instead.
Later, Bud Adams admitted of the bad situation, which the quarterbacks had been made to go through and expressively was happy with their quarterback situation minus Peyton Manning.
It was also welcome news for Washington, who apparently could have been through difficulties while receiving Peyton Manning throws, which are to be seen in a game since the player’s neck surgery in September 2011.
Irrespective to uncertainty around Manning’ future, the Titans are back with each other in same older fit and said to be happy to what they have achieved last year with all those players.
Titans were unlucky to have fallen shy of the playoff opportunity. Yet they were pleased to have finished the season with the record of 9-7 with head coach, Mike Munchak, into his first year with the side.
Washington, who has had a knee surgery in the offseason, has expressed confidence on recovery from the injury and rehabbing well before start of the team’s offseason activities.
No member of the team management has commented on the status of the player’s injury and all the possibilities remain limited to his surety that he will be back to the squad next season.
According to independent reports, the player had chipped bone problem, which required him to undergo the medical procedure.
