Nathan Adrian seizes Men’s 100m freestyle gold – 2013 Austin Grand Prix
Nathan Adrian of California Aquatics seized gold medal of the Men’s 100m freestyle on concluding day of the 2013 ST TXLA Austin Grand prix at Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, on Friday, January 18.
The 24-year-old Adrian stifled hopes of his opponents in the two lap discipline and cruised his way towards the finishing end for gold medal. Adrian stayed in a comfortable lead over his strongest challenger and touched the wall for the title.
Adrian remained in a prominent lead over his closest competitor and tapped the wall for gold medal by producing an effort of 48.32 seconds.
With his notable pace, he stayed 1.03 seconds ahead of Ricky Berens of Longhorn Aquatic, who occupied silver medal of the race by producing an effort of 49.35 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Jimmy Feigen of Longhorn Aquatic, who was 0.66 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by reporting an effort of 50.01 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Matt Grevers of Tucson Ford Deal, who stayed 0.18 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end with the timing of 50.19 seconds.
Grevers remained 0.30 seconds faster from Anthony Ervin of California Aquatics, who finished fifth in the race by touching the wall with the timing of 50.49 seconds.
Sixth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Geoffrey Cheah of Palo Alto Stanford, who was 0.16 seconds slower and hit the wall with the timing of 50.65 seconds.
Subsequently, Cheah was chased by Eugene Godsoe, who Stan-PC/PASA, who was 0.15 seconds behind and posted a time of 50.80 seconds for seventh position.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Michael Klueh of Club Wolverine-M, who was only 0.06 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 50.86 seconds.
In addition, the arena applauded for notable efforts of all participants in their respective events while the winners received medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the event. In addition, Adrian received massive appreciation from the audience
for his undisputed efforts.
