Nathan Adrian wins Men’s 100m freestyle gold – Swimming News
Nathan Adrian of California Aquatics won gold medal in the Men’s 100m freestyle on opening day of the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championships & World Champ. Trials in Indianapolis on Tuesday, June 25.
The 24-year-old Adrian, who captured the title of same event at the 2012 London Olympic Games, went full rampant in the national trials and secured the title.
He faced tough contest from his opponents in the race but with his commendable form, he managed to outsmart them over the finishing end for the title.
With his notable form, Adrian remained only an inch ahead of his following swimmer over the finishing end and secured the title with the timing of 48.10 seconds.
His gold winning effort remained 0.14 seconds ahead of Jimmy Feigen of Longhorn Aquatic, who stepped on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 48.24 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Anthony Ervin of California Aquatics, who was only 0.25 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing wall for third position with the timing of 48.49 seconds.
The third best finisher was chased by Ryan Lochte of Daytona Beach-FL, who was only 0.09 seconds slower and tapped the wall for fourth place with the timing of 48.58 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the event was obtained by Ricky Berens of Longhorn Aquatics, who was only 0.10 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end with an effort of 48.68 seconds.
Subsequently, Berens was chased by Matthew Grevers of Tucson Ford Deal, who was only a stroke behind and tapped the wall for sixth place by producing an effort of 48.91 seconds.
Seventh position of the event was secured by Conor Dwyer of Una NBAC-MD, who remained 0.03 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing wall with a timing of 48.94 seconds.
Last spot of the event was obtained by Caeleb Dressel of Bolles School Sharks, who was 0.56 seconds slower and clocked an effort of 49.50 seconds.
Furthermore, Adrian was delighted with his top finish in the race and received accolades at the prize ceremony of the event.
