Nathan Brown to uplift his squads morale - Rugby League News
Nathan Brown, the Huddersfield Giants’ coach, will talk to his outfit today, September 17, to hike up their dwindling morale after their embarrassing 47-0 defeat against the league-toppers, Warrington Wolves, in the inaugural tie of the top-eight series.
The loss has been felt by the entire outfit and they need some bucking up from the coach. Giants are still inthe running for the title with a final chance left for them to remain in the Super League.
There is a possibility of their return with an opening match scheduled next weekend, which will spring them back in the game.
While comparing his team’s current standing with the Wolves, who have already earned a week off along with the right to opt for their next four opponents, Brown does not know what is instore for his team if they manage to crawl back in the game by next
week.
In reference to Wigans’ right to select their future opponents, Brown stated, "I can't imagine them picking Wigan or someone like that after what they've done to us today. I'll worry about next week and, if we do well enough, which I'm sure we can, I'd imagine
we'd be coming back here."
Brown realises that his team has the necessary potential to surpass any hurdle with the proper training incorporated into their routines.
In order to beat all odds, Brown is preparing his squad for the toughest physical test of the season.
The mystery about the Wigans’ choices for future games, is yet to disclose .
Tony Smith, Wigans’ coach, who was Giants’ former coach has shared that he will not participate in the decision making process.
While speaking about the process, Smith stated, “I'll leave it up to other people. I've never been a fan of it. I'm happy with whoever we get or whoever the club decide to choose but I won't be part of it. I don't care. We'll have to play somebody, maybe
we'll toss a coin, I don't mind. We'll just turn up and play. We're looking forward to it. We've worked hard this year."
It is apparent from Smith’s statement that Wigans’ coach does not want to be part of the decision making process, as his inclusion in the procedure might lead to a bias for his former club.
Brown has flown in to Warrington for the club’s fourth convention of the year. Giants have already won two of the three encounters, which include the inaugural clash of Super League in Cardiff, in Feburary. However, there is no second opinion on the ferocity
of the battles which are lined-up ahead of Giants.
