Nathan Buckley... AFL legend or a loser?

Which do you think Nathan Buckley was in his career in AFL footy

Imagine being at a p**s-up with Buckley, Eddie & Mick!!

They would bore you tears telling you how wonderful themselves, & the other two, were. If you could believe what Eddie & Mick say, Buckley is the best thing since sliced bread & the Don Bradman of AFL!

He shared in a win in that Brownlow Medal fiasco but what else has he achieved?

Just another footballer - definitely no legend.

I don't think that I could put him in either of these brackets.

However, Nathan had a good run, and possibly made a sizable amount of cash from the game and TV.

Certainly I wouldn't class him as a loser due to his longevity in the game, and Brownlow Medal.

But on the other hand I'm not comfortable placing him in the legends category.

Reckon Nathan would always go down as one of the Collingwood clubs' greatest, but comparing him with leaders that are at other clubs, he would have a few ahead of him in the rankings.

Initially, with his sooking and dummy-spitting and blaming of team-mates he was a massive loser, almost as bad as Richo was. But he seems to have fixed that.

In his latter career he has been a champion, with one notable exception - a flag. Not sure about Legend, but definitely champion. Somewhere on the bottom range of that Limbo occupied by the likes of Skilton, Ablett, Harvey, Lockett.

Absolute Ledge!  

He was hard, tough (knew the limits of the rules) and very skilful.

I don't think he did much more wrong than any other player off-field and he always presented well to the media conferences etc.  Was also always the first to run to an opponent and shake their hand in defeat. OK I can't imagine Nathan and I having philosophical discussions over a fine red ... but I never asked him to do that!

And no, I'm not a colliwobble fan

I'm not a Collingwood fan ,but I have always respected Nathan as a person and especially as an AFL player.

He has done heaps for Collingwood and for the Footy community in general.

He deserves all the respect he gets.

Well Dan, fancy someone calling Nathan Buckley a "LOSER". Nathan, reminds me of Warren Tredrea (Port) an arrogant human being who thinks the game revolves around themselves. (Surely Buckley can't be that bad), I do think he is a great footballer..... but not legend status. Poor Eddie, now he would have to go to bed with...........well maybe Dale Thomas.

In my opinion, Nathan Buckley is an absolute champion.

I am not a Collingwood supporter but Always love to watch him play.

He gives 110% and would have loved for him to have played for the Crows.

I think people who say they hate him would soon change their mind if he was or had been a player for their team.

Oh Chair Wizard, I'm disappointed that 'loser' and Buckley would ever be put into the same sentence..

It was only a short time ago that everyone was raving about how great Nathan is/was (straight after he announced his retirement)..gee how the tables turn so quickly!!

Just coz he choses not to get into drunken fights, stumble out of strip clubs or have his laundry aired in public, does NOT make him a loser...he is the best role model any kid could have.

i have no love for collingwood but Buckley would definately be a champion of the club and the AFL and one of hose rare players that could win a game off their own boot.
