After struggling to take wickets throughout the four-match Test series against India, the Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon finally found ‘natural variation’ in the Adelaide wicket. He hopes that he can end on a high, claiming a fifer on the final day of
the fourth Test.
Lyon ended day four for figures of 3 for 57. With the Indian tail batting, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 demoralised at 166 for 6 at the close of day four, it is the perfect opportunity for Lyon to get a five-wicket haul.
"There's plenty of rough for the spinners so hopefully I will be able to play more of a role tomorrow," said Lyon speaking to media reporters at the post day media conference on Friday.
"We're starting to see some natural variation and some spin and the ball is starting to keep low," he added further.
His three victims in the Indian second innings included stand in skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607, calling
it a privilege.
Commenting on Sehwag's wicket, Lyon credited the former Australian captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 for providing good tips.
"It probably wasn't my best ball. I'm not going to call him back. That's for sure. Ricky Ponting came up to me just before that ball and said 'do him in the air' so I was pretty happy about it," he said.
After failing to impress throughout the series against the new ball, Sehwag got into his own during the last innings of the series. He made a quick fire 62 off just 53 balls, which included 12 boundaries. Lyon claimed his prize wicket to ease the nerves
of the Australians.
Before coming into this match, Lyon had only claimed two wickets in the series but insisted that he had bowled well throughout the series.
"I've felt I've bowled reasonably okay the whole summer,” said the off-spinner who has played nine Tests so far. “It's just good to be able to contribute to hopefully a team's victory," he added further.
