National Circuit GP Finals: Goh V Shem and Soong Fie Cho claim victory in Mixed Doubles Group A
Goh V Shem and Soong Fie Cho, who are the experienced shuttlers in Malaysia, proved their mettle on court and outplayed their higher ranked rivals Ong Jian Guo and Lim Yin Loo in Mixed Doubles Group A at Maybank National Circuit GP Finals 2012 on Thursday,
December 27, in Malaysia.
The nu-seeded V Shem and Soong Fie played with tremendous precision in the arena and managed to thrash Ong Jian and Lim Yin who are the top seeds in the main draw in Mixed Doubles category.
V Shem and Soong Fie were in smashing form as they played with superb speed and precision on court and remained successful in winning the battle in straight games with a huge 21-14 and 21-14 margin on score board.
On the contrary, Ong Jian and Lim Yin tried their best to play positive badminton but they failed to shake the confidence of their lower ranked challengers and finally went down without taking any set.
In the opening set, the aggressive V Shem and Soong Fie showed a tremendous performance on court as they executed powerful and well directed shots with remarkable variations from opening rallies.
The in-form V Shem and Soong Fie employed their top quality skills in the arena and eventually took a strong position at the early stage.
After the break, the lower ranked V Shem and Soong Fie did not lose their commanding position at any stage all the way.
V Shem and Soong Fie remained consistent in employing powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually bagged the first set with a superb 21-14 score on the board.
In the second game, V Shem and Soong Fie did not take much time in getting a strong position on court as they played in the similar aggressive way.
The in-form V Shem and Soong Fie entertained the crowd with their unparalleled skills that enabled them to put pressure on their opponents who failed to find positive run.
V Shem and Soong Fie stayed consistent in their positive performance and easily took the second set with a smashing 21-14 score on the board.
