Hello everybody I am working on an officer speech for FFA and I was just wondering what the FFA organization means to you? What has it done for you? and also what does the FFA jacket mean to you? What is you best/funniest memory? What problems you see it facing? and what are ways to get more members to join and break free of the sterio type that it is all about farming?

Also what would you like to hear from a state officer speech what would you like to walk away with? or what qualities do you look for in a leader?

Sorry its so long but I am sort of a profectionist and I am having trouble where to begin writing so I just thought I would see what yall thought! Thanks!

  1. I love FFA It has opened  awhold new world for me. The problems i see in our chapter is too much drama and not enough trying to get things done. We have voted on taking care of a man whos house who had burned down and that did not happen.

FFA jacket gives me a sense of pride, to wear it is something special. When I put that jacket on it gives me a feeling of belonging and strength that i am apart of such an awsome organization.

My pet peeve to the extreme is when people complain about having to wear OD. You should feel a sense of pride not resentment. I tried out for a delaget spot last year and did not get a slot. When the delegates went to area convention all of them were talking about how they were mad they had to wear od. You tryed for the position and got it you should be happy and not complain. =( I would have not complained one minute I accualy like to wear it, even the hose.

When i went to state convention the best officer speach i have ever heard was from somone from our very own chapter and he rapped in his closing address.

My best memorie in FFA is going to The state convention. I cant wait untill next year i get to hopefully go to national convention with my agri-science project. We all had a blast many fun moments from our ag teacher hiding to surprise a kid to throwing ice at eachothers doors at like midnight. Boys vs. girls. Girls won by the way lol.

I believe a way to break the barriers is for the FFA members themselves talk to people in there own classes. To get the word out about FFA and all that it does. Truely it is not all about agriculture as you know. When you discus it with your fellow class mates it gets the word out and people usulally are intrested in what you have to say and will listen.

If i did not have FFA and something to look forward in the morning i believe that I would not be the same person i am today. It has truely changed my life.

I would love to be an State officer in the future.

    Wish you the best!

From a fellow Texas FFA Member.

  2. FFA.. lifelong friends, self-exploration, it's such a special organization.  FFA changes students, helps them grow, shows them their own talents and allows members to excel like never before.  It can turn lives around.  It's truly the best student organization in the country.  The jacket is a symbol of pride and tradition... love for the blue corduroy.  Problems this organization is facing: lack of agriculture educators, schools booting out the vocational programs due to budget cuts, etc.  I think FFA can break the sterotype itself with the diverse CDE areas.  Leaders: determined, dedicated to the organization and its members, etc.

Now my own comments... this speech will be way to broad if you use all of those things you asked about.  Focus on one thing, a story, or something.  Just think about it.  Hope this helps.
