National Hockey League (NHL) top forwards today – Part 10
Mike Ribeiro
Mike Ribeiro isn’t particularly popular around the NHL world. The reason for this is his reputation which can be matched to that of Christiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese footballer. Ribeiro is said to be a player who dives without any reason is search of penalty.
The main part as to why people don’t like him much is that he succeeds in doing so much of the time. Though his reputation might not be good but he certainly has a lot of talent with which he has won the hearts of many. Dallas Stars have seen him coming
up with some of his best performances during the course of the season but unfortunately he doesn’t have the supporting cast.
The Dallas Stars with a little more depth to their squad could have very well contended for the top spot in the league. Currently, they are placed seventh in the league and from the looks of it they are guaranteed a spot in the play-offs. However, despite
all the diving issues Mike Ribeiro has been the most productive player for the Dallas Stars this season. He has scored 46 points in the season and is placed sixth in the league with 36 assists in the season.
Martin Havlat
Martin Havlat didn’t have a particularly good last season and things were tough at the start of this season. Though there were many speculations that he might leave Minnesota this summer but Minnesota Wild decided not to let him go and give him another chance.
Initially, after a disappointing start to the season, Martin Havlat spent very few minutes on ice but as the season progressed these few minutes started to become productive minutes. The productivity from Havlat started to increase and goals started to come
even though Minnesota Wild as whole didn’t enjoy much success.
They are in a tight competition with a few teams in the Western Conference for the play-off position but if Martin Havlat continues to play the way he has been then the Wild are expected to pull away from rest of the pack. The coaches who earlier decided
to cut down his time on ice now would be grateful that they trade him as he taken is points tally in the season to 44 and is one of the solid forwards in the league currently.
Matt Duchene
Another one of the Colorado Avalanche players in Matt Duchene is in the list. Though as initially it was thought of him to be a guy with arrogance, he showed that he is a fun guy. His humorous attitude during the NHL All-Star drafts added a lot of people
to his fan base. However, he isn’t placed in the list for being funny.
Matt Duchene is among some of the most skillful players in the league which he showed during the All-Star weekend while competing in the skills competition. Over there he not only proved that he is a good finisher but also has the skills to carry the puck
from anywhere on the pitch and find the back of the net.
Matt Duchene has been one of the main offensive weapons of the Colorado Avalanche and has scored 45 points out of the first 50 games he played in the season.
