National Hockey League Special Report – Boston Bruins stack up second consecutive win defeating Carolina Hurricanes 3-2

Another one of the interesting matches of Tuesday was the Carolina Hurricanes playing against the Boston Bruins. This was the 46th game of the season for both teams which was played at the RBC Centre. Around 17,000 fans came to witness the match
which was the 686th game of the season.
Carolina Hurricanes certainly gave the Boston Bruins a tough time till the very end of the match. However, Boston Bruins showed nerves of steel and were able to score and win the match in the end. Tim Thomas, goal keeper of the Boston Bruins was named the
star selection of the match for his brilliant performance during the match that saw him making 43 saves.
The first period saw both teams attacking right from the start of the match. There were chances and goal attempts were made by both sides right from the time when the period start. Boston Bruins took early advantage with a mistake in the Hurricanes defence
which saw Johnny Boychuk scoring from a powerful long range shot in the 3rd minute.
After the goal, Carolina Hurricanes totally dominated the game all they did was attack the goal. They worked hard and with the strong pieces of play managed to score in the 19th minute through Jussi Jokinen to level the scores. A few more shots
were fired on goal but without any success. The period ended with the scores level on 1-1 with Boston Bruins making 11 goal attempts while Carolina Hurricanes made 19 goal attempts.
The second period saw Carolina Hurricanes continue on total domination roads as they didn’t give the Boston Bruins any space to work. At one stage it looked as of Carolina would take the score to double digits but their non-productivity hurt them.
The finishing was poor by Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins made a few occasional goal attempts those too on a counter attack. The period ended with the scores still level on 1-1 with Boston making 9 goal attempts in the period and Carolina Hurricanes
making 19 goal attempts.
The final period began with both teams not attacking like the previous two periods. They waited to chances to come by which certainly did. Boston Bruins took the lead once again scoring through Brad Marchand from a brilliant backhand shot in the 4th
minute.
Both teams started to step up their game which resulted in the Carolina Hurricanes score through Chad LaRose in the 10th minute to level the scores once again. However, a few minutes later Boston Bruins scored once again through Milan Lucic from
a superb strike which turned out to be the winning goal as the Boston Bruins won the match 3-2.
During the course of the final 20 minutes of play, Carolina Hurricanes made 7 goal attempts while Boston Bruins made 8 goal attempts.
