National Hockey League Special Report – Buffalo Sabres win 3-0 against the San Jose Sharks

The final game of the season was played as the San Jose Sharks played host to the Buffalo Sabres. This was the 604th game of the season which was played at the HP Pavilion Centre this Thursday. An attendance of around 17,500 fans was observed.
Buffalo Sabres came up with a 3-0 win against the San Jose Sharks, though the Sharks came up with a very strong performance. Ryan Miller, goalie of the Sabres was named the star selection of the match as he made 35 saves in the match.
The home team, San Jose Sharks absolutely exploded at the start of the match piling up shots after shots. The Sharks offence was strong and not only dangerous from close range but there long distance shots were spectacular.
Buffalo Sabres got into the game after the first few minutes after which they grew into confidence with the passage of time. The Buffalo Sabres scored through Luke Adam from a brilliant backhand shot to take the lead of the match.
Buffalo Sabres continued to grow and managed to score once again in the 17th minute through Jochen Hecht to double their lead. The Sharks ended the period on a high but Buffalo Sabres led 2-0 going into the break with both teams making 10 goal
attempts each in the period.
The second period started smoothly for the Sabres and they scored once again in the 4th minute through Thomas Vanek to take the score to 3-0. This proved to be the last goal of the match as well. San Jose Sharks again made shots after shots and
some brilliant passing was observed.
San Jose Sharks absolutely dominated the game after the goal but despite making almost three times as many shots as Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks failed to score.
The period ended with Sabres leading 3-0 as they made 5 goal attempts while San Jose Sharks made 13 goal attempts.
The final period was similar to the second period with the only difference being the fact that no goals were scored in the final period. The period saw the Buffalo Sabres making 5 goal attempts while San Jose Sharks made 11 goal attempts as Buffalo Sabres
won the match 3-0.
