National Hockey League – expected award winners (Part 2)
Dirtiest Player during the course of the season ?
The dirtiest player award has some very strong candidates much to the surprise of the National Hockey League.
Though Matt Cooke is expected to win this award each and every single year due to the aggressive and rough game that he plays, this time we have a few other inclusions.
This time out there is another player who has according to many crossed the marks which Cooke set.
Trevor Gillies is the player who is expected to win the award this time. The things that have credited in his benefit and made him the expected winner of the award is the nine games suspension he endured after attacking Eric Tangradi and then his act of
knocking out Cal Cutterbuck who is one of the young and talented superstars in the season so far.
Dirtiest Player Runners Up
The first runner up to this award is the expected winner every year in Matt Cooke. Though it would seem a surprise not because he is in the list but for not winning it and taking home what he deserves almost every season.
Sean Avery is next in the list as he has some controlled anger. But he brings diversity in the list of the players who are to be dirtiest. Not only has been a physical threat to players but his tongue never seems to stop once it start talking. His abusive
nature along with the physical brutality he puts others through put him as a second runner up in the list.
Brent Johnson and Colin Campbell are others in the list that come up with two or three bad tackles during the season. The reason they are included in the list is that they think of knocking down a player as their duty.
Jack Adams Award
Jack Adams is one of the awards which is given to the best coach in the National Hockey League during the course of the season. There are some strong candidates but like the very first award we mentioned in the list this one seems to have a clear cut winner
as well.
The New Jersey Devils current coach Jacques Lemaire is the expected and most strong candidate to win it.
He took over the Devils at a time when they were facing the threat of finishing the season with their worse ever performance. However, ever since he has come to lead the Devils he has changed the things and the Devils are going through some of the best times.
They have not only won games but have done that regularly as they look to make their way into the cut. The first half of the season saw them being the worse teams in the National Hockey League but they have been the best team during the second half of the
season.
However, the entire weight of the success in on the shoulders of the coach only, there have been players like Ilya Kovalchuk who have been very strong on the offence.
The Devils certainly had the talent and strength to upset any big team on their day. It was just a matter of giving them the right guidance and the final touch so as to bring them down as single unit each time the teams went on ice.
