National Movement - How do we start?

Question

I am clueless about politics and government although I continue to have many good ideas :)

I work from home for a major company. I have been doing this for 9 years and I cannot fathom how much money I have saved, doubly so with the rising cost of fuel. However, my husband who also works for a multimillion $ company has to report daily, racking up 80+ miles roundtrip.

My thinking regarding the oil crisis and the high cost of gas is to encourage more corporations to get on board with mandatory work at home hours for as many employees as possible. Think about the savings not just personally but nationally. If every company really got behind a movement like this I am sure there would be an immediate impact.

So my question is, how do I create awareness of this and start writing letters and to whom do I write to have the most impact. I'm sure I could gain involvement from employees but how do we get our message heard?

You can't force a company to have "Mandatory work at home hours"  You can encourage voluntary participation, but cannot make it mandatory.

Post on lots of message board to get a buzz about it and make a youtube video- to get a following. Then you and your movement write letters to businesses and the media. Call Rush, Call Glenn Beck, Call Randy Rhodes, Write to major newpapers. Get somone big on your side like Boone Pickens or Tom Hanks.

First off, if you want to start a National Movement its not going to go anywhere with 'good ideas' like 'mandatory compliance' with anything as the answer!!!! EDUCATION is the answer and fundamental starting with yourself. Admitting that you are 'clueless about politics and government' is a good start.
