    id do that job

  2. The U.S. National Park Service employs people with a braod range of education and profesional backgrounds to help carry out its mission.  I have known individuals that were employed by the NPS and each had backgrounds that included history or biology.

The public face of the NPS places a focus on interpretive programs -- ways to show the public how a particular site or area was in years past.  At national Monuments, this may include staff (rangers) dressing in period costumes and/or demonstrating old techniques used.  In other places, it may include presentations on flora and fauna.

A college degree is all but essential for a staff position with the NPS, but different posititions have different emphases and different experience requirements.  Check with your local NPS district office for more information.
