National anthem?

Was whatching the rugby this after noon, why do England have God save the queen and not Land of hope and glory as there anthem, as I thought former that was the Brittish one.

The English should not have the British Anthem.

The Scots dont want to be British, or the Welsh, nor the Irish,

to angel yes you are right let England sing whatever they want no one cares especially the WELSH ,IRISH, AND SCOTS.

That's a very good question. All the other home teams have there own anthems. So why not England? Land of Hope would be a good one to use.

They sing "Swing low sweet chariot", maybe we should use that. Or "I vow to thee my country"?

This is a very important question, because as a Welshman, I do not know why the English have the British UK National anthem instead of one specific to the Green and Pleasant land of England.

Now that is what I call an Anthem fit for England and the English - absolutely fabulous.

I too prefer 'Rule Britannia' - but not just for England - for all the UK.

Maybe 'Jerusalem' would be more appropriate for just England.

god save the queen is english and not british however the other is british and not just for england when lewis hamilton wins gran prix its land of hope and glory and when the lions play its hope and glory if england football team play it should be god save the queen
