Mountain girl - I completely agree with you. I am anti-welfare/warfare also. But we have to phase these things out. Especially for the elderly who, for no fault of their own, inherited these flawed entitlement programs. I imagine we agree on most things.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't get many answers.

By the lack of responses I guess most here don't care if they sell their children's and grand children's future to china and the banks. They will be dead by them so I guess they just think its not important. Or it could be they just do not understand..I hope thats it.

  1. It's interesting your posing a concrete question and  using abstracts as solutions. Less than %5 could even possibly get their hands on $300,000. Keeping spending at the current level of spending would essentially  be a cut in spending. If we let our children deal with it you will need to double the $300,000 and that;s not taking inflation in account, because Americans are growing at a negative rate. C that is funny.  If we freeze spending we will still be operating at a deficit so it will continue going up gov't receipts would have to grow while all gov't employees and social services would have to be cut and with the baby boomers retiring that could cause some problems.

Raising taxes right now while trying to hold off recession would devastate the economy which in the long run will cause receipts to go down making the situation even worse.

Prayer without works is dead so we need to actively campaign to get those suckers out.

There is plenty to worry about and fiscal correction is inevitable.

My plan is simple, keep spending below receipts which will give us an annual surplus meaning we wont have to  borrow more money. Do not reissue any outstanding debt. This would make the debt extinguish itself without cutting the heart of the U.S. budget.

And who in the world thinks this country has nothing to defend?!

  2. Well I like the idea of C. Haha. D is totally bogus though. We should not be spending this much money on defense. There is not much to defend! And we shouldn't have ANY entitlement programs. No one is "entitled" to anything except life, liberty and the *PURSUIT* of happiness (not actual happiness). So my choice would be to cut ALL spending (including defense & entitlement programs).

  3. I say D too, but then I see how they do things, and realize that they have no intent whatsoever of fixing it.

I have to agree with Im back, and add that things now are getting much worse much faster. Our country can't survive as it is on $5 fuel (diesel here is $4.90+). What people don't realize is that this doesn't stop at the gas pump. Go walk around your favorite store, and look at the prices. Go to your favorite restraunt, and if it's even still open, look at how few people are there. This will have a snowball effect on our economy,(banks collapsing are the headline today) and it is all because of a completely created artificial crises!

It seems that the special interests in America either know, or are creating whats coming, and they are wringing every dollar out of the American peoples pockets they can take right now.

Obama, or not...change is coming, and it won't be good!

  4. Good question. Most folks are not even aware of this.

I like D but unfortunately, its not in the ruling class's best interest to pay it off. The more $ that is owed to them, the more control they have over the rest of us.

  5. My share has already been paid..

If the government wants it back they will have to go talk to the couple down the street from me who has baby after baby and lets them run the neighborhood. The lady probably has never lifted her finger in her life (except to fill out the welfare papers) and her boyfriend is always working on his car and is on disability because he got shot in a bad drug deal.

They are wearing designer clothes and have a brand new Lincoln Navigator.

Yep Uncle Sam they have your money..

    EDIT:

Mountain Girl....I dont know how much you think we are spending on defense...but let me give you the facts...its a h**l of a lot less then we spend on welfare and medicaid...

  6. Well the debt will never be paid off because the debt come from interest on money that is borrowed from the same people we are in debt with. The dollar is falling because of this. Because the government keeps borrowing money that they will never be able to pay off. The more counterfeit fiat money is produce is like putting water in a pot of soup. Sooner or later the soup is going to be so diluted that you will lose the soup. Thats the state of the economy. water down soup. Then comes the Amero

  7. H, declare bankruptcy . Go after those caused this with criminal charges . An rebuild the US economy as if the country was new . A dollar backed by silver and or gold .
