Question:

National guard and christmas party drill

My boyfriend is in the Army National Guard and I heard someone say something about a Christmas party drill in December, where they wear there Class A dress uniforms does anyone know anything about this? And would I be able to go with him and would I also get to dress up? Thanks to anyone who can help!!!

The National Guard has these nearly every Christmas and hold them on the last day of drill, a Sunday.  All the soldiers come in their Class A's (or Dress Blues now) and just socialize for a while.  Lunch is usually provided and everyone comes with their family to get together one last time before the holidays.  It is generally a pretty casual affair for family members.  It is okay if the kids show up in jeans and a t-shirt.  For you, a simple casual sun dress or skirt would be appropriate if you desired.  Really, no one is judging you.  Just don't show up looking like a complete slob, but just be yourself.


  2. If his unit is having such a party, it would more than likely be a family oriented event. More than likely, if they are wearing their class As, then you would probably want to consider dressing up as well.
