National guard split option?

I am a teacher and am interested in the split option program.If I were to sign up for the split option program, in a critical MOS field, can the army call me up before the 2nd summer when I would begin training.

you are not a Soldier until you have a profession.  They will not send you anywhere until you are qualified in your chosen field.

You have to attend AIT before the Army will send you, which would be the second summer.

The only possible way was if we desperately needed more soldiers, that would probably be the last resort before drafting individuals.  This has almost no chance of ever happening.

However, in a critical MOS, you will more than likely deploy quickly after training.
