issue is my kids were born in china. my wife is chinese. while applying for indian passport, my wife had written a consent letter that she has no issue in getting indian nationality to my kids and indian embassy issued the passport. however when i went to get the dependent visa, china public security bureau officials rejected indian passport and said my kids are chinese since they were born in china and mother is chinese. They have helped them make single exit-entry permit. which allows kids to live in china forever and while leaving hte country, they need to issue this exit-entry permit book. however for flight booking, indian passport no. has to be given. note that exit-entry permit booklet is not chinese passport. its something like a proxy passport i think. its too much a pain. Do note that China authorities consider him as a chinese national and forced to have chinese name on this exit-entry book though birth cert has indian name in english script...i am totally lost.

  1. China has different laws on immigration. Though your children was born dual citizenship, but by the Chinese laws, they must denounce Chinese citizenship in order to become Indian citizen, they can't have both.
