Native Beauty to capture the second chance at Towcester in the Mills Bomb Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle on 24th April
Towcester will host the Class 4 Mills Bomb Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle over two miles on Tuesday, 24th April. Contesting for the £2,534 purse is the line-up of eight four-year and older thoroughbreds.
One of the most accomplished entries is Native Beauty, King’s Theatre’s six-year-old bay mare out of mare, Woodville Star. Her seasonal debut was in the Haygain Hay Steamers – Clean Healthy Hay Novices’ Hurdle (Division I) on 22nd January over
two miles.
Native Beauty shoved the 8/13 favourite runner up of the race, Bygones Sovereign, in the runner up’s slot by two and a half lengths. Coming at terms with the third position was Financial Climate.
Her career debut was at Towcester too, on 20th May 2011, Native Beauty finished third in the Dalepak Ltd Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race over two miles which was won by Blasé Chevalier.
Johns Spirit came second as the evening’s favourite of the race, True Blue, finished fourth on the line-up of thirteen.
Native Beauty has remained unsuccessful in all the three races that followed the victory.
Fifth outing of the season with a second chance at Towcester has surged the chances for the six-year-old to claim the race today.
Another entry who has raced at Towcester twice during the previous season is Egretta Island, Heron Island’s six-year-old bay mare out of mare, Ring Mam.
While Native Beauty was third in the Dalepak Ltd Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race on 20th May 2011, Egretta Island finished seventh while riding with Jason Maguire.
On 20th November, she was the part of the line-up for the GG.Com Alerts Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Towcester over two miles and five furlongs. The race was won by the 13/8 favourite, Cross The Flags, as Delays Expected settled as the runner up.
Egretta Island ended fifth on the track of nine.
The last time that Native Beauty and Egretta Island raced together was on 20th May and today will confront again. How will the two get positioned in today’s race will get unfolded soon.
Tarashan is yet another entry who has raced at Towcester but nothing significant reflected in the outcome of the race as she ended second last on the field of seven.
