The general term is sporting firearm or hunting fire arm.   Depending on what  kind of ammunition and animal that it is used for   a sporting/game rifle, deer rifle, bear rifle sporting/game pistol or shot gun.  Shot guns are not usually used for military purposes so most people do not  use sporting  or game with a shot gun, since that is assumed.
