Native grasses to endangered species?

I am doing some science questions... one of the questions is..

Relate the planting of native grasses and wildflowers to endangered species.

i know everyone will be like do your own homework, but i have no idea what the answer is and its only one question out of 30 haha, so please and thanks help!!

A good example is with birds that feed on or nest in very specific plants.  If these plants are wiped out..they do not have nesting sites or food to eat.  Many birds are endangered due to this exact thing happening.  Good examples are the endangered Least Bell's Vireo and the Southwestern Willow Flycatcher..both nest in Riparian habitats which are in serious decline therefore making the birds decline and becoming endangered.

    "90% of California's rare and endangered species inhabit the state's grassland ecosytems."

    Not much of it left in this state, and probably many others, too, which is probably what your teacher is driving at.

  4. The main reason for species to become threatened or endangered is loss of habitat. Planting of the grasses they animals are used to living in, eating, etc. restores some f that habitat.
