  1. fruit flies  maybe.  attractyed  to  any  spills  of  sweet juice  or  could  be apple  husk  in  garbage  can.  keep  all  food  related  garbage  in  a  sealed  container  in  your  kitchen. the  open  trash  cans  in  your  home  should  be for paper  only or  non  perishables  only.

a single  drop  of sugar  syrup as  in  a  popsicle  wrap  will attract if  not   feed  an  army  of  flies

Could be fungus gnats if you have house plants.

  3. Sounds to me they are fruit flies.  I have a lot of experience dealing with them, my Mom sells locally grown produce at her store.  They hatch from any fruit, bananas seem to be the worst culprit.  What you need to do is make a fruit fly trap.  Get a container, such as a glass, put a piece of fruit like a banana peel in it.   Cover the top of the container with saran wrap.  Poke 2 or 3 small holes in the top.  They will go in but not go out of the trap.  The next day, empty your trap.  Rinse it out, and do this all over again until all the fruit flies are gone.  Another suggestion is to put a trap in every room in your house, it will work much faster.   And to prevent this from happening, dispose fruit and vegetables as soon as they overripen.  I hope this helps!

  4. they might be fruit flies, do you have any fruit they might be attracted to?

Also you might be attracting them because of lights you have on and maybe a hole in one of your window screens.

Its very common in the summer months, dont worry to much though

  5. Any chance it's fruit flies? I have dealt with them before when a banana had fallen behind a table I had in the kitchen and that was an awful experience! I do not think it's associated with maggots though. Hope things get better!
