Question:

Natural Bug Repellents For Dogs?

I'd like to make my own tick/black fly repellent for my dog, but I'm wondering if any of the common natural ingredients are harmful to canines. Most recipes include lemon/lemongrass, rosemary, thyme, basil, bay leaf, catnip, cloves, and aloe vera gel. Essential oils used are rose, eucalyptus, lavender and cedar. Any experiences, or can you recommend a bug spray I can make at home?
