Natural Gut Tennis Strings 16 or 17?

On Tennis warehouse I see wilson natural gut 16 strings and wilson natural gut 17 what is the difference and how do I know which one I should get for my racket?

  1. The 17 or 16 gauge refers to thickness of the string. 16 gauge is thicker than 17 and will be more durable. The 17 gauge will provide more playability, power, control, touch and feel. If you never break strings, go with the 17. I play with 17 gauge and love it. I use Babolat team natural gut. FYI  Babolat makes Wilson natural gut strings for Wilson, so when you buy Wilson you are essentially buying Babolat anyway....try out Tennis Express.com
