I keep hearing about henna, I have not used but want something strong enough to dye natural locked hair. I currently have dark brown/black.

  1. Henna is good but you should get it done by a professional, it can become frightening and damaging if you do not know what you are doing esp if you go from dark to light.  I once went from jet black to red and it was great but done professionally because native americans and asians tend to have jet black hair.

  2. aveda permanent color is about 97% natural and semi perm. is about 98% !

  3. Henna is good but I have tried Nutratint if nothing at all consult a professional so it can be done safely.

  4. Here are some forum threads that talk about henna. You can find more if you look around.

  5. I've used dark brown henna and colourless henna ( the colourless is supposed to condition your hair really well). You have to leave the stuff on your hair much longer than regular permanent dye. It's really a pain to mix and use, bit like mud and its messy and runny. But it does not give me headaches and allergic reactions like runny eyes that the other dyes do. It tends to make your hair tinge a little reddish as it wears down, but it lasts much longer than regular permanent dye.
