Question:

Natural Injury Knees?

One day I decided to sit down on my left leg at the desk chair. When I was almost down on it.. the leg bone slipped out and back in fast and I jerked leg from underneath me quick! It startled me and only hurt for just couple minutes, just light pain. That soon ended quick.

Well about 2 weeks later I was sitting down on a porch with legs crossed. One leg under the other leg, like your meditating for an example. Well I got up but I used the strength of my legs to do it with no support from the porch. Bad Idea. My legs are twisting a little as normal, but the left leg, the bottom bone jerked out to the right, then left, then right, then back in joint. My leg went all over the place and I almost fell off the porch. I was scared by then.. and pain developed fast.. That lasted couple days.

Well ever since that has happened, I can't really bend the leg, sitting on it, b/c at the joint it starts to pain if I bend it, not part of the way, all the way til my heel of foot is near my behind. It's still like that and it's been over a month. The right leg was fine, but now the knee is starting to pain for no reason. I don't exercise I mostly sit down. Since that happened I decided to start exercising my legs. I use to have legs and feet turning red getting pain, but I turned that around by only exercising. Is my leg muscles weak? Is there any chance I would be able to bend my left leg all the way? Will I be able to run without worry that the bone may jerk out again?

Other Notes: I can't sit down on a floor with the leg crossed like I did on the porch or the left leg will start paining while the leg normally twists. My right leg knee has light pressure pain if I squat down for a min and try to stand back up all the way. Feels like both bones are pushing hard on the cartilage. I'm trying to bend my left leg all the way, I can almost do it but the small pain emerges right below the kneecap. I can walk fine or jog some with very little to no pain at all.

Thank You

  2. 1. Yes your muscles are weak from lack of exercise.

    2. It sound like you have dislocated your knee a couple of times.

DO NOT try exercising until you see a doctor.  He/she will tell you what type of rest and what special exercises to do to help strengthen your muscles.  Inactivity is never a good thing, but don't do anything now that may permanently damage your muscles.  Make an appointment to see a doctor ASAP.
