  1. Not a real story, although director Oliver Stone named the movie Bonnie and Clyde (1967) as a source of inspiration. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were real life bank robbers who roamed the central United States during the Great Depression and inspired the 1960's movie, starred by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.

    An ironic fact is that although the movie is not really based on real events, it's been accused of encouraging or even inspiring several real murderers. The most notorious being the one of a friend of novelist John Grisham. At that time, Grisham spoke out against Oliver Stone and the film itself.
