Natural ingredients to colour cake icing?

I am making a birthday cake and the person is allergic to a lot of artificial food colorings etc so i am wanting to know if there is some kind of alternative using natural ingredients

  1. you could boil fruit and make reds from strawberries, blue from blueberries and etc... or use fruit juices such as orange juice to make yellows and cranberry juice to make the reds. mix into the frosting just a little bit at a time like by the tablespoon full and it should change color and some consistency. but they will at least be able to eat it. :) good luck! hope this helps!

  4. You could try pureeing rose petals to make nice colours (they're edible).

    Could try red cabbage juice.

    Spinach for green?

  5. fruit jucies mixed in with your icing sugar orang, cherry grape ect..

  6. Jelly makes a pretty pastel color. (I mean the fruit spread for toast, not the gelatin kind)
