  1. The fruits of Ceiba pentandra tree are like cotton. We call it 'kekabu' in Malay. Quite fluffy and soft as feathers. We stuffed them in our pillows and mattresses.

  2. Wool, cherry stones, millet, wheat......... i receive a catalogue that sells them, but i cant remember what its called. Try looking up green fibres or something like that on the net.

I believe Kapok comes from a tree and isnt an ethical source of stuffing, we used to use it at school and it got banned back in the 70s.

  3. Hops are good, help you sleep as well

  4. dried grass

  5. Kapok,- used to be used in lifejackets,-it is a plant fibre, but not sure of the source.

  6. wool??

  7. Most of the feathers in pillows are synthetics anyway. If you're worried about saving the birds, then don't because most don't use birds anymore. If you're worried about the environment and they synthetic processing plants then hmmm... maybe just cotton filler? That's what I use if I sew and make pillows.

  8. Buckwheat.
