  1. diet and lifestyle changes are very important factors. Supplements that may be helpful are Vitamin C, E, garlic.

    Garlic, 400-600 mg daily.

Psyllium, one tbsp. of psyllium powder dissolved in juice or water two times daily. Remember to drink extra water.

Vitamin C, 1,000 mg two times daily. If diarrhea develops, reduce the dosage.

Vitamin E, 400 IU two times daily. If you take anticoagulant medications, check it with the doctor.

Red yeast rice, two capsules (600 mg each) two times daily with food. If muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness occurs, stop taking it.

Inositol hexaniacinate, 500 mg thrice daily.

  5. Hi,

Eating whole, nutritious foods is an effective natural way to have a healthy body. One fruit in particular that can really help is blueberries! Research has shown that it can reduce  cholesterol among other things. Check out this article for more information: http://www.organic-home-online.com/blueb... .

Bee pollen has also been shown to have positive effects on your cardiovascular system which would effect cholesterol levels, I would think.

Generally, eating a diet full of whole fruits and vegetables and eliminating processed foods will go a long way toward restoring your health. Also, if you are suffering from health problems right now, you might want to think about supplementing with a whole food vitamin supplement until you get better.

  12. Understand this...cholesterol is only found in animal products. what your body cant metabolise or use gets deposited in organs and tissues and eventually inside your arteries. Apple Cider Vinegar (braggs organic) is a natural chelation and cholesterol eliminator. Avoid ALL ALL animal products for about a month and you will notice an extreme drop in cholesterol. Also FIBER, steel cut oats at least 3 times a week, plenty of water, and apple cider vinegar (must be unfiltered). This not only purifies the blood and cleans the arteries but actually provides your organs with energy.

No Saturated or Trans fat!! anytime you see NO TRANS FAT "PER SERVING" means there is trans fat, but the FDA says that if it is below a certain percentage that they can say none per serving. Eat loads of monounsaturated fats found in vegetables, this fat actually helps get rid of bad fats and cholesterol in the body. Onions and garlic which are diuretics will help keep the blood flowing smoothly and help your kidneys filter out the cholesterol and plaque that's found built up in your arteries...IT WORKS

  13. The majority of cholesterol in the blood is synthesized in the liver from dietary saturated fat and trans fats. Saturated fat is found in things like fatty red meat, store bought cakes and biscuits, chips, coconut oil and palm oil. Consume lean red meat, and cut out on the pre made snack foods. Making your own at home will make a huge difference.

It reduce your plasma cholesterol you need to cut down on your saturated fat intake. Dietary cholesterol (pre formed cholesterol that is found in food) actually does not impact very much on plasma cholesterol.

Consuming fiber with a meal can bind with cholesterol released in the bile and stop it from being reabsorbed. This is the same mode of action as the cholesterol lowering medications called bile acid sequestrants. The bind to cholesterol and stop it being absorbed.

The main things you can do is reduce saturated and trans fat intake and consume more fiber.
