Question:

Natural supplements to relive a very bad anxiety disorder?

I am seeing a psychologist because of panic attacks and intense/daily feelings of depersonalization, and I have been diagnosed with depersonalization disorder with very high anxiety.

Does anyone know of any natural things I can take to relieve these symptoms?? I'm tired of feeling like I'm living in a dream 24/7 and always feeling like I'm going to lose control. My doctor prescribed me seroquel but I'm not going to take it.

I did some research and found these:

Bio-Strath Elixir is a herbal yeast tonic

Natura Rescue remedy

A Vogel's Neuroforce homoeopathic drops

A Vogel's Hyperiforce herbal drops

Does anyone know about these? Which one do you guys think would help me out the most? And does anyone have any other recommendations?

Thanks

  1. I used to feel the same way. Please take this into consideration. It worked for me, although I am not you.

I had overwhelming anxiety. It turned out to be my use of Splenda. Yup Splenda. How could something that taste so good, be so bad?

I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. Sadly, the package doesn't have to say Splenda or diet to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might be using it and don't even know it!

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues and more.

Go ahead, google: anxiety splenda or anxiety sucralose or insomnia splenda or insomnia sucralose

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air

  2. PLEASE listen to your doctor and take your medication. i'm sure the doctor knows best. theres nothing wrong with being on medication for a psychological problem. i'm sure once you get better your doctor will let you stop the medicines. at that point you can try alternatives like a better diet/ meditation, etc or whatever your therapist thinks best.

Fish like salmon and walnuts which have high quantities of Omega oils are good for mental activity. But this IS NOT a substitute for the medicine. There is no diet which can cure a psychological disorder.

    Best of luck.

  3. Don't take anything like that without consulting your doctor first.  If you really want to go the natural route, try intensive therapy and a holistic doctor--not homeopathic.

  4. I've tried Bach's Rescue Remedy, kava kava, lavender suppliments, meditation, self help books,,,you name it. They all help a tad, but not as much as my good ole last resort antidepressent...Paxil. The fog lifted, no more nervious Nelly days on end, and the dark depression cycles are mere moments instead of like an never ending Gobstopper..

  5. There are certain 'natural' substances that have mild anxiolytic properties, the problem is that none of them are potent enough to deal with what you're describing.

The symptoms that you list are on the deeper end of the anxiety spectrum, and honestly, Seroquel would not be my first choice for this situation. Seroquel works, but the only reason I would go for it is if you have a had a drug addiction problem in the past. The side effects of Seroquel make it a poor choice for first line treatment.

Talk to your doctor about something like klonopin or valium, either one should be potent enough to deal with the symptoms you're describing. Depersonalization implies that the underlying anxiety is extremely severe. Again, Seroquel is not a first choice, and I'm beginning to get irritated with this tendency in the medical field to jump on atypical antipsychotics as firstline drugs. I can't wait til their damned patents expire.

As for the above substances, homeopathy does not work. It's demonstrated not to, and the principals it's based on are blatant contradictions of some very important laws and operations of chemistry and physics, and all of what you're listing seems to be homeopathic. Via the placebo effect they can relieve mild anxiety, but the symptoms you're listing are too severe for that.

  6. Depersonalization disorder?  where do these analyses come from?  who sits around at night and names these disorders?  If the doctors would think of actual ways to rid patients of "disorders" instead of medicating them, maybe something would change...

I'm glad you have decided not to take Seroquel.. Just keep doing your research and listening to your body....I don't have any recommendations but I think you're headed in the right direction...take care...
