Natural way to kill indoor ants?

Question

Is there some homemade remedy to get rid of ants inside a house? They are tiny little black ones. I have pets and kids so I'm cautious not to use harmful insecticides. Thanks for any suggestions.

Naturally, as in non-toxic, is virtually improbable.  Borax and corn syrup, sold as "Terro" commerically lets the ants take the borax back to the nest and kills the Queen.  it is not instant but works 100%.  The syrup attracts them.

I have a cat and two dogs so I put droplets in safe places - window sills (inside the window).  In the VERY back of cabinets - where it is dark. And other places my furry friends can't get to.

Technically Borax (the commercial name) is natural as it  occurs naturally in evaporite deposits produced by the repeated evaporation of seasonal lakes.

We have MAJOR midget black ant invasions here in the south seasonally and it has practically eliminated the population over 3 years (sequentially decreasing).

I wish we had Anteaters here!!!!!

you should put little bits of food in a row that leads out of your house

Cornmeal.spread it around the mound and they will eat it and die

Tobacco spread in yard will run away ALL pests and fertilize the yard. you can buy it loose in packages

well...i wouldnt count on a natural way.

i would get a bug bomb, leave your house for as long as it takes, and your house should be clear by then. The ants whould be gone as well

dont take my directions though. do some research

fill bottle caps with boric acid granules and leave them around where u find ants........leave for a few days

try Sevin dust from your local hardware store, also cucumber peels or lemon extract work great! Best of luck getting rid of the pests!

Try sprinkling baby powder around the problem area.I've used this and this works.Also, we have used black pepper for the problem too.I think the baby powder works better than the black pepper,my husband disagrees.

sprinkle Sweet n Low around where  they travel    it works.
