I understand that eating right is the main thing and exercising, but are there any vitamens or herbs that help? Thanks.

  1. No vitamens. There may be a herb mix out there since there seem to be one for just about any health issue. Whether it actually works or not is another matter.

Mine is fine on a low fat, high fiber diet, oatmeal every day for breakfast, and regular exercise (cycling.)

    Good luck.

  2. My cholesterol was at 200 and the doc had me on Crestor but I went off of it when I found out I had to get my blood tested every 3 months because of the potential for liver damage.

I started really paying attention to my diet and exercise but I really noticed it went down when I started taking an organic whole food vitamin. In fact, the last time I donated blood, my cholesterol was at 172...that was a non-fasting cholesterol, too. Pretty happy with that number!

This is purely anecdotal evidence. I can't promise you that it will work for you that way but if you want to check it out, this is where you can find out more an try a sample: http://www.urilife.net/best_whole_food_v... .

    Hope that helps,

  3. Natural remedies include oats, oatmeal, garlic oil, fish oil and many others that you can find in a web search for "high cholesterol" + "natural remedies".

Each one helps a bit so you may have to take several.

  4. for centuries the Chinese have used aged Pu Erh tea to help reduce cholesterol. This is a black tea with a pleasant, slightly smokey flavour and it really "flushes" your system. Drink 2 to 3 cups daily.

Also "eating right" is open to interpretation.

If you are sporting somewhat of a beer-belly or spare tire and/or experience episodes of bloating, possible gas, tiredness after meals, brain fog, constipation or loose stools, you might want to cut out grain carbohydrates completely.

In many people they may cause an intestinal inflammation that results in an inability to absorb nutritional minerals and vitamins... and down the road may put you at risk of developing metabolic diseases such as heart issues, diabetes or kidney disease.

  5. fish oil

    hemp seeds/oil

    flax oil

    coconut oil

    probiotics

    oatmeal

    heres some that help
