  1. cramp bark and catnip (health food stores)

If it's really bad, go on the depo shot, most people don't get their period.

  2. i get pains all the time! Besides using pain meds, try applying a heat pad to your lower stomache and drinking some herbal tea. Another weird thing that helps me is lying in a nintey degree position with my legs up against a wall forming an L shape. Also, try walking around and maybe some excersice, it can ease the pain. I hope this helps!

  3. A good herbal tea that works great for me is

    1part Angelica Root

    1part Cramp Bark

    1part Chamomile

    1/4 part Ginger Root

(you can get these all at a local health food store)

Steep an ounce of the herbs in a pint of water for 10-20 minutes. Strain and Take 1/2 cup two or three times a day.

I usually make this tea and use a heating pad a few times a day.  An easy way to make a hot compress is with a tube sock and minute rice.  Fill the sock with rice and tie off the end.  Microwave for 20 seconds at a time being sure not to get it too hot.  If it feels just warm to the touch at first it is good.  It will get hotter as it sits for a few minutes.

Avoid the cold (cold foods, swimming or bathing in cold water) and make sure you have adequate calcium in your diet.  A deficiency will cause cramping

And as always drink up!!  Dehydration will also promote cramping.

As for other treatments, chiropractic will do wonders not only for cramps but your complete wellness in general.  You may also be interested in massage, acupressure or yoga.  Yoga is a great way to relieve stress, and balance hormone levels which may be a  reason for the cramping

    ease period pain.http://myblogonbeauty.blogspot.com/2007/...

  5. I'm a Chiropractor, and have very good results reducing period cramps, usually with only one treatment.

I used to work at a medical center with lots of female assistants and therapists, and they'd be running around with a hotpack in their stomache, and I'd treat them and it would be completely gone in about 10 minutes.

Get a good Chiropractor through an insurance website (not the big ad in the yellow pages.)

  6. hot shower is what i do and then a nap right after.

  7. Have you considered Reflexology? It is a very pleasant bodywork modality, most commonly applied to the feet, that women's health conditions respond nicely to.

  8. well I my self do to have period when I was 10years of age

pads can help alot it comes naturly so you can't take meds for it

    1) drink only hot things 2)yoga 3)naps 4)acetaminophen- c.v.s.

  9. Fennel tea, you can buy the seeds. Boil water with seeds in.

  10. Nordic Naturals Omega Woman, is a good supplement to take.

  11. Cramps are caused by prostaglandins that are released by your body during your period. If your cramps are really bad, you might have endometriosis. I had really bad cramps for a long time and ended up with endo and also adenomyosis so I know how awful it can be.

Most likely, though, you are just suffering from plain old cramps. Other things you can do besides what's already been suggested is increase protein rich foods and limit dairy intake. Here's an article about premenstrual syndrome that may help explain what's going on with your body and ways you can handle these issues naturally...http://www.healthy-living-for-moms.com/P... .

    Best Wishes to you,

    Healthy Mom

  12. Chines herbs such as Dong Quai, Yimucao and Huixiang are supposed to help.
