Natural ways to get rid of flies ! I own a Fruit stand.?

Question

Can someone please give me some ideas on how to get rid of flies.... not fruit flies, just regular flies. I need it to be natural or organic. Some thing that is NON-toxic ! I have a fruit stand and i sell watermelons, cantaloupe, honeydews, red chile, onions, cucumbers, squash....... just to name a few...... but the number one attractor are the cantaloupe. i need something natural since i'm dealing with produce. I will deeply appreciate any help, i'm going crazy with all these flies....

i live in louisiana and there are a lot of flies here too. what i do is fill up a gallon sized ziploc with water and hang it up near places that attract a lot of flies. what it does is scare away the flies because they see their reflection, only its bigger, and it scares them away.

im pretty sure you can use smaller sized ziplocs, but i think the gallon sized ones would work best. just poke holes into the top or around the zipper to help hold it up when you hang it.

this works great on top of the garbage can outside your home too!! that's what i use it for!!

can you enclose the stand with screening/walls? that would be the most effective. Try fly paper, messy but effective. there are also fly traps that are non-toxic to humans and enclosed so will never get close to your food or customers

In your situation I would get some of those small cilinders that have glue and you pull a tape down to about 1 or 2 feet, they atract flies and trap them. You could also electrify them with one of those electric zappers that have a blue light.

mixed tiny amount of potassium in water and spray around, flies will go away plus potassium is good to wash fruit it kills germs unwanted,   good luck
